This is the luxury yacht, Lady Lara, built in 2015 by Lürssen in Schacht-Audorf (Germany) anchored off Singer Island since May. She is almost 300 feet in length, 50 feet in width, has 5 decks, a crew of 19 and can accommodate up to 14 guests in 7 bedrooms. The hull is built of steel and the superstructure is made of aluminum, with teak laid decks. Amenities include zero speed stabilizers, elevator, beach club, helicopter landing pad on the bow, spa, swimming platform, tender garage with tender, air conditioning, on deck jacuzzi, gym, BBQ, and underwater lights. The Israeli/Kazakh billionaire Alexander Mashkevich owns the yacht. Lady Lara currently sails under the flag of Cayman Islands. Owner Alexander Antonovich Mashkevich was born in the Soviet Union in 1954. He is a businessman and investor with major holdings and close political relationships in Kazakhstan. He holds both Kazakh and Israeli citizenship; His father Anton was a doctor from Lithuania, and his mother, Rakhel Yoffe, was a lawyer born in Vitebsk, Belarus. The family evacuated to Kyrgyzstan in 1941. His family background is Lithuanian Jewish. Mashkevich started out in an academic career but became a businessman during perestroika. Mashkevich, Patokh Chodiev, and Alijan Ibragimov form “the Trio,” a group of Kazakh businessmen who became billionaires. The Trio gained control of the recently privatized chromium, alumina, and gas operations in Kazakhstan (some of the largest ones in the world). Mashkevich served as president of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, which is part of the World Jewish Congress, until 2011. Today he is worth $3B.
